I think from the photo I saw on the site these dogs were Neos, and that really bad news for a breed that already some don't have a good opinon of.

NATIONAL CITY - Three mastiffs mauled a woman on a National City street, knocking her to the ground and rendering her unconscious.

The woman is recovering at a hospital from dog bites.

County animal control investigators say three mastiffs attacked a woman in front of a community library on the 27-hundred block of Granger Avenue.

It's unknown what sparked the dogs to attack, but 12-year old Daniel Gomez witnessed the mastiff attack unfold before his eyes.

Gomez said, "I saw three dogs attacking like a lady."

Neighbors say the woman was headed to a party near where the dogs mauled her.

Gomez said, "They were like chasing her. I heard barking, screaming, everything. It was scary."

Gomez remembers a man walking with the woman. He escaped the dog's furry by jumping over a fence.

The dogs bit the woman on the left arm. She needed 27 stitches to close her wound.

Gomez said, "She was like screaming Help me. Help me."

Animal control now has the mastiff's locked up. They're waiting for the victim to identify the dogs.

The breed is sometimes referred to as "gentle giants" because of their nature and size.

Animal control investigators say the owner of the dog claims pitbulls in the area did the attack.

If the dogs are positively identified the owner could face criminal charges.
