  Intro to CARTING
http://users.erols.com/gr8rswis/IntroCarting.htm This Page will take some time to load as there are many pictures. This Page will give an Introductory Demo with photos on how to get started with teaching your dog to cart and do draft work. I have given many lectures and clinics all over the country on Draft Training, I have co-judged at Draft Trials and Draft Matches and I have been actively participating in Training, Demos, Seminar, Clinics and Trials since late 1991. This is an activity that the dogs really enjoy and when introduced properly very few dogs and trainers have much difficulty learning the steps.

  GPCC Dog Carting
http://www.sonic.net/~cdlcruz/GPCC/library/carting.htm The Great Pyrenees Club of California has a long history of cart-pulling Pyrs. The Garcia's Garmac Express graced many a South Bay event in the 1950's. The Los Gatos Christmas parade in the 1960's was not complete without the Christmas Dogs (Pyrs) and at least one dog cart. In the 1970's 43 owners and 15 dogs came to a Walnut Creek park for a carting workshop put on by Downing Mc Kee.

  Carting Corner
http://staff.petech.ac.za/cartingcorner/default.htm Many of the large breeds of dog were once used as draft animals at some point in their histories. The Rottweiler and St. Bernard were both used to pull loads. In their native Flanders, Bouviers were used as carting dogs to haul people and produce, such as dairy and baked goods, as well as equipment for mobile tinkers and butchers. In times of war, Bouviers served the Belgium military as sentries and haulers of machine guns and wounded soldiers.
