Hello there, I have recently got a harlequin dane cross old english mastiff puppy. He's 10 weeks old and will be a strictly family dog for us. I'm wondering if anyone here has specific experience with this cross? I tried searching but didn't dig anything up.

Hmm I see I can't upload pics without having them already online?

I'll bump my old thread. Thunder has settled into the family quite nicely. He's about 150pds now and we couldn't be happier with him. He's very social and extremely easy to work with. I'm recently back to the site as I'm doing research on types of training and techniques. Also in a week from now we're getting a 'buddy' for Thunder a english mastiff x italian mastiff.

Thanks to all of the contributors here for a great resource.

He's a nice looking dog, i wouldn't have guessed EMx harlequin Dane though (because of colour). Your little girl and him look like best buddies So cute.

His coloring seems very off to me. From his litter he was the only one with that coloring. He gets mistaken for a CC/italian quite often. He had one sister who was black and white like a harlequin and all the rest of his brothers and sisters had OEM coloring. Seemed odd to me too, at the time the breeder had no interest in Thundy due to his coloring he came quite inexpensively to us because of it.

I'd be interested to hear any other thoughts on his coloring. I had assumed that his coloring must have been a fluke variation off of the harlequin?

His patience with my daughter is amazing, she can walk him and give him all his basic obedience commands and he listens very well to her. I'm thankful for the bond they have.

At just over 1 1/2 he's just beginning to display some protective qualities. He's unaltered and still quite good with other dogs although he is dominant he's not violent about it.

Wow, he looks like a brute. Beautiful dog.

I just got a new puppy who's another cross apparently english mastiff x italian mastiff. Anybody's thoughts on this coloring?

I would guess Rottweiler made it's way in there somewhere. This coloring is not unheard of in Cane Corso, but not that distinctly marked.

Thanks, I was thinking the same thing myself that something like rotty must've jumped forward as the mother is a papered EM and the father isn't. Always a bit of a gamble with mixes but I'm just a enthusiast with no aspirations of breeding so wasn't overly concerned. He's a really sweet confident puppy so far.

There are Corsi that are that definitely marked, though in North America, i would doubt it. Rott has been used in the American Corsi, so that is a good assumption though I would wonder about the mastiff used as well, since Black n Tan is very recessive...

Here's the only pic I have of the mom, nursing the entire litter.

And a couple of pics of Thundy and the new guy ripping er up.
