Found this dog at a state park, assumably abandoned. I would like to know what breed or breeds she might be. I tried a pit bull forum, but they had no suggestions other than "some pit bull". She has a very sweet temperment. She is very intelligent and responds well to training. She has high exercise requirements and it shows in her personality if she doesn't get at least an hour of vigorous exercise per day. She is quite playful and will make up her own games if no one plays with her. Vet thought she was about 18 months old.

Her muzzle seems off for a pit bull and her frame doesn't look like the pit bulls I have seen online. She weighs 61 pounds.

I can't answer your question as you may want it answered.:( But I do want to thank you for rescuing this precious girl!!! She does look like a pit mix to my uneducated eyes.lol
We have 2 pities in our home, 1 belongs to my son, and the other is mine. Both are like night & day in their look.;) My girl is very lean, where as my son's boy was very muscular. Not anymore since he has not been getting the exercise he was used to before coming to live with us.:( My girl is so high strung that she keeps trim.;)

One thing I can see is that your little girl is a momma.

Yes, her teats were cracked and leaking when I found her. No pups around. Three months and a spay later, her back teats still sag, but are not as noticable. Thanks for your comments!. I have noticed a distinct variety in pit bull looks. She is tall and full bodied, but doesn't have any of the bully look to her.

She may be mostly pit bull. I only want to know about the possible mix to research any temperment issues. She is sweet and smart but she is manipulative and defiant if given a chance. We were going to foster her out, but decided to keep her because she is such a neat dog.

Hi, I'm not sure what you mean; "doesn't have any of the bully look to her." If I were to see her in the street I would guess her to be a Pit/Mix.;)
She sounds just like my girl "sweet, smart, manipulative, and defiant if given a chance." You have totally described my girl. The boys have also been sweet, and smart, but definitely good soldiers. Always following directions.;)
May be it's a female thing.lol
Best wishes!

I'm sure some more knowledgeable peeps will chime in!!

I mean the " American Bully" look. I have had people say that she looks full pit, but I see some "flaws" that would indicate that there is something else there. She isn't really that big, so nothing giant in there. I guess its her lanky frame and high butt that makes me wonder.

The way she plays us is pretty funny. I used to give her a treat when she came back inside until she started wanting to go out every 10 minutes, LOL !!! Had to stop those treats.

I agree with you there. She doesn't look full APBT to me either, but what do I know.lol Not sure about the body since the pix were taken shortly after her having pups she just might need a little time to get her girlish figure back.;) To me it's her long square muzzle that's off.;)

That is to funny!LOL

I agree, sabrina, she looks very much like a pit bull. I would love it if she were purebred since it makes it easier to gather information and pit bulls are generally known for a stable temperment. I have been calling her a pit since I picked her up and most people assume that is what she is.

I have read some of the other ID threads and some members seem good at identifying characteristics of dogs and I am hoping that someone could look at her and tell if there is something else ...

She looks like a bullmastiff cross to me. Maybe pitbull x bullmastiff, or something like it.
