Hello just wanted to post, hello. I'm new to posting but not new here. I've been reading with interest for months but never wanted to post due to episodes on other boards in hopes of avoiding controversy. But just wanted to say HI and introduce my boy Butch 9 month old American Bulldog.

LOL, thanks. Puppyhood has been VERY trying, he's at the teen stage now, LOTS of backtalking/barking but I keep the OB and the firm control. I originally had him scheduled for neutering but pushed it back to when he's a little over a year, I was concerned about his growth. Thanks for asking.

Sorry, forgot to tell you about him, LOL. Butch is actually a REALLY good boy, good temperament, smart and he has displayed SOME protection skills. I don't think I'll do ANY showing OR breeding just want to have a nice pet.

Thanks a lot riddickfan, I can't say how many times I've been asked if he's mixed with pit and DALMATION. A LOT of ABs have these little spots and it is VERY noticeable in ALL of his brothers and sisters. I get excited when people even get it right that he's an American Bulldog.

LOL, you know I don't know castanha, I used to have locks so I chose that pic. I wish I knew how to upload a picture like you have to replace that one.

Hi Acamper,

No prob. This is my first dog of ANY kind and I did some THOROUGH research before I decided on an AmBull, I wanted/NEEDED a dog that gets along well with kids because I knew my daughters would be fearful. Since Butrch has come to stay I've also purchased probably over twenty various dog books. I did NOT want a drooly or hairy dog and I wanted a nice sized dog which may be a protector. I have NO intention of breeding and it's doubtful that I'll do any showing as I plan to have him neutered, I WOULD like to learn some personal protection possibly. I hope I've answered enough. I also TRY to refrain from responding on forums too much because I see how heated they can become and SOME people are kinda rude, BUT as I've stated I've been enjoying the site for a few months before I decided to say hello.
